Victoria Beckham‘s days as “Posh Spice,” the impossibly chic, perpetually pouting fashion girl, were immortalized in the iconic clip of the movieSpice Worldwhere she can’t decide between the “little Gucci dress” or the “little Gucci dress.” (Relive your childhood memorieshere.) And in a new interview, she just confirmed what we all knew to be true — her budget was the largest of the group because the other girls got their “crap” clothes for free.

Beckham spoke at the “Vogue100″ exhibition at theNational Portrait Galleryand, according to the U.K.’sThe Sunopened up about her time in the band saying that her mic used to be turned off during performances so only the other members could be heard. And she was always the one keeping the others in check: “When all the other girls were being fun and spontaneous and jumping on tables, I was always the one checking the table wasn’t going to collapse. I was always the sensible one.”
But turns out there were still major upsides to being the most stylish girl. “I was always the one that loved fashion and it was quite a [good] result for me. Because the girls always used to get their clothes for free, because they were crap, and so there was a lot of budget for me to have my little Gucci dress,” she revealed.

And the star parlayed that budget (and the accompanying fame) into a career of posing in gorgeous outfits with a stern expression. She has a successful fashion line, is married to PEOPLE’sSexiest Man Aliveand has four adorable kids. In fact, she’s so lucky her family even fully supports her design business (Brooklyn was at the talk andInstagrammed a “so proud” pic with his mom!), even stepping in when it’s crunch time before a fashion week.
“Last season Harper tap danced for all the ladies working on the sewing machines,” she shared. “David has been known to go to the garage, pick up a load of biscuits and crisps and set up a little buffet for all the seamstresses. Whatever it takes to get this collection done.”
No, we didn’t think her family could get any cuter either.
