Tristan ThompsonandJordyn Woodsplanned on sticking to the same story and denying theiralleged hookupto the Kardashian-Jenner family, a source tells PEOPLE.
“It seemed she had an agreement with Tristan that they would deny hooking up if they got caught,” the source says, adding that the basketball player, 27, had assured the 21-year-old model that “no one would find out.”
“Jordyn was shocked when the family did find out and confronted her,” continues the source, who says Woods initially denied their alleged tryst. “Jordyn acted very distraught. But the family feels that she is mostly upset that she got caught.”
Reps for Woods, Thompson and the Cleveland Cavaliers, the NBA team for which Thompson plays, did not immediately return PEOPLE’s requests for comment.

As for Thompson, the source says “Tristan didn’t seem like he cared too much” about the cheating scandal.
“He seemed to mind the drama, but didn’t act like he regretted hooking up with Jordyn. He actually denied, too, and has had no explanation since as to why it happened,” the source adds.
Thompson haspublicly addressed the rumorsthat he cheated on Kardashian with Woods. AfterTMZandHollywood Unlockedreported on Tuesday that Thompson was unfaithful with Woods, Thompson tweeted and then deleted a post on Twitter reading, “FAKE NEWS,” seemingly denying the reports.
“When they first started hearing on Monday that Tristan made out with Jordyn, no one really believed it,” one source said. “That Tristan would be inappropriate, yes everyone knows that he can’t behave, but that Jordyn would make out with him, it first seemed like a made up rumor.”
“It wasn’t anything they wanted to drop,” the source added. “So several family members reached out to people they believed had been at the party. And they were told it was true.”

“She’s very good at compartmentalizing and at the end of the day, she wants True to have a happy relationship with both of her parents,” a source close to Kardashian told PEOPLE.
“She’s not one to seek revenge or hold onto negativity,” added the insider.

On Saturday, Kardashian posted a series ofcryptic quoteson her Instagram Stories about howdifficult times are only temporary.
“We have to accept that some people are really f— up and it’s not our job to heal them,” another slide read.
Kardashian still follows Thompson on Instagram, although she hasunfollowed Woods.
Although Kardashian has not confirmed her split from Thompson, the latest scandal could be what she needs to “finally be able to move on,” aninsider previously told PEOPLE.
The couple weathered their first public scandal last April when photos and videos surfaced of Thompson getting close to other women just days before Kardashiangave birthto their daughter. Though the new mominitially forgavethe basketball player, they took adownward turnin recent weeks, living apart and spending barely any time together.

“Khloé is doing okay. She’s still upset about what happened and talks about it a lot. But it really seems she is able to see what everyone else has been seeing for so long — that she was always too good for Tristan,” the insider said. “She deserves so much better.”
