Theodore Georges Helou was born on Saturday, September 16, at 6:17 p.m., arriving nearly 2 weeks before his expected due date, says the couple.

Tiffany, who chose a natural birth, was in labor for nearly two hours.“My contractions started in the late morning, and I had planned to labor at home as long as possible,” says Tiffany, adding, “The pain is hard to describe, but even in the worst moments when the contractions were coming hard and fast, I knew it was getting us closer to meeting our son, so it was all worth it.”
While she was in labor, Gio recalled the doctor bringing over a mirror, which was “the weirdest thing in the world,” to encourage Tiffany to “push harder.”
“I, no way in hell was looking at that mirror,” he says. “I was standing behind Tiff, holding her hand. But it took every ounce of courage not to look at the mirror because it would’ve scared the hell out of me.”
In the end, Teddy arrived without complications. “It was smooth, beautiful and messy as hell, but just part of the process and just wonderful creation of life such that it is,” Gio adds.

Then a month later, Tiffany broke some unexpected news, which she revealed to her husband in an exclusive, unaired scene fromSelling the OCseason 2 shared with PEOPLE.
“If you’re going to drag me out to Laguna [Beach], it had to be like this,” Gio says in the clip, referring to the expansive waterfront views.
“I actually have some news. Can you put down your coffee?” Tiffany says, pausing. “I found out last week that I’m pregnant.”
“You’re serious?” he responds.
“I’m like 5 weeks pregnant,” she continues, before the couple embrace and share a kiss.
“I love you,” Gio tells Tiffany, who replies, “I love you, too.”
“I knew there was something up with you!” he adds.
“You’re going to be a dad!” Tiffany exclaims at the end of the scene.
With Teddy now in the picture, the couple plans on spending as much time with him as possible. “I’m doing my best. I’m saying ‘no’ to everything I possibly can,” explains Gio.
Becoming parents has also unequivocally changed their perspective on life.
Gio says that for him, welcoming Teddy into the world has been a “life-changing” experience.
