Lexi Reedis working hard to get back on track with her fitness journey after struggling with calciphylaxis, which left herunable to walk or stand on her ownfor several months.
“Little bit of cardio hard-io is complete,” she said onher Instagram storyTuesday, while leaving the gym with husband Danny.
“Good job,” Danny said, giving her a supportive fist bump. “I’m proud of you.”
“I think this week I’m going to try the elliptical with you,” the fitness influencer, 32, said, while Danny nodded. “Because I think it’s time. He’ll have to just watch me because my leg still gives out, but I’m getting stronger. And then eventually we can do weights and stuff together.”

Reed was able toreturn to the gym in late August,postingon Instagramthat she was in remission from calciphylaxis. The rare and serious condition occurs when calcium builds up in blood vessels and blocks blood flow to the skin, according toCleveland Clinic. It can lead to blood clots, open wounds that don’t heal and potentially deadly infections.
Reed was diagnosed with the condition after suffering from severe kidney failure which landed her in amedically induced coma.After being diagnosed with calciphylaxis, sheunderwent 59 weeks of treatmentfor the rare disorder, which caused her to have more than 30 wounds all over her body.
“When I first started going to wound care, I was in a wheelchair,”said Reed.
But now, she says she’s taking “small steps, gonna see progress and feeling stronger daily. Let’s go!”
Reed rose to fame after chronicling herweight loss journey online, which led to her and her husband Dannylosing a total of 395 lbs. in two years.
