A woman pleaded guilty in Indiana to her role in the death of a 5-year-old who wasfound dead in a suitcase, according to several reports. The boy’s mother, who is wanted in connection with his death, is still on the run.
WTHR,WLKYand theCourier Journalreport that Dawn Coleman, 40, of Shreveport, La., pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder, citing the plea agreement.
5-year-old Cairo Jordan, of Atlanta, was found dead in a suitcase in the woods of rural Indiana near Louisville, Ky., in April 2022, Indiana State Policepreviously said in an October statement.
The outlet, citing Coleman’s arrest affidavit, reports both women allegedly published several social media posts referring to the child as a “demon” prior to his death.

WTHR reported that as part of the plea agreement, Coleman will serve 25 years in prison with five years probation and will have to testify against Anderson in any case related to Cairo’s death.
Police have been unable to locate Anderson, but Coleman was arrested in San Francisco in October 2022.

Coleman then allegedly said she helped Anderson put the body in the suitcase, which they drove into Indiana and dumped it in the woods, the documents reportedly said.
