John MulaneyandOlivia Munnenjoyed a fun date night atSNL50: The Anniversary Special!
On Sunday, Feb. 16, the couple attended the star-studded event in New York City to celebrate the iconic show’s milestone. Although she skipped the red carpet, Munn was spotted sitting in the audience next toFred Armisenduring the special to support her husband, who wrote forSNLfrom 2008 to 2013.
The pair later attended the afterparty, held at The Plaza Hotel.
During the show, Mulaney, 42, joined Steve Martin for theopening monologue, kicking off the hours-long episode and prompting huge cheers from the audience.
“I didn’t know you were even gonna be here!” Martin, 79, said to Mulaney, who quipped, “You would if you’d ever come to rehearsal.”

The stand-up comedian then shifted his focus to the audience, joking that it was filled with “some of the most difficult people I have ever met in my entire life.”
Mulaney and Munn’s last public date night was at theSNL50th anniversary concertat Radio City Music Hall on Friday, Feb. 14.
Before that, they hadn’t made a high-profile appearance together since October 2024 atInStyle’s inaugural Imagemaker Awards, where he presented her with the Woman of Impact Award. The honor is bestowed on a celebrity that uses their platform “to bring attention to a cause close to their heart and create lasting change,” InStyle wrote in the awards announcement.

PEOPLE first reportedMulaney and Munn’s relationship in May 2021. That September, Mulaney revealed during an appearance onLate Night with Seth Meyersthat he and Munn were expecting a child together.
Their son, Malcolm,was bornon Nov. 24, 2021, and they later announced they had welcomed their second child, a daughter namedMei, via gestational surrogate on Sept. 14. A couple of months later, he mentioned the new addition to the family during his sixthSNLhosting gig.
In July 2024, the couple married in an intimate ceremony at a friend’s home in New York state, a source close to Mulaney told PEOPLE at the time.Malcolmand a witness were the only loved ones in attendance at the nuptials.Sam Waterston, Munn’sThe Newsroomcostar, officiated.
