The singer, 35, spoke with comedian Chris Klemens for a funny man-on-the-street interview clip shared on Nov. 27. In theInstagram Reel, Klemens asked Jonas to share his “favorite dish,” a callback to aquestion Lovato, 32, was once asked in 2015.

“My favorite dish is a mug,” the Jonas Brothers singer responded, adding, “Demi once said that in an interview.”

Klemens, 31, admitted that was the reason he asked the question in the first place, calling Lovato’s viral response his “favorite interview clip ever.”

Jonas continued to defend Lovato’s original answer and said, “I still believe that it was on purpose.”

The reference comes from a nine-year-old video of Lovato speaking withEnergy NRJwhile promoting her albumConfidentin Europe. During the interview, the “Heart Attack” songstress was asked the same seemingly straightforward question: “What’s your favorite dish?"

Rather than giving an expected answer about her preferred cuisine, Lovato took the question literally and touted her favorite type of kitchenware.

“I like mugs, because they’re very comfortable in your hand,” she responded. “And they hold hot things that you don’t have to touch. You know, coffee or hot tea.”

In 2023, she continued to address the ongoing joke in an interview withHarper’s Bazaar. On her personal TikTok account, Lovatoposted a clipof her answering the question, “All these years later, whatisyour favorite dish?”

“First of all, that whole answer was not me being ditzy, I swear. I was really tired and I was doing these interviews and I was getting asked all these questions,” she said. “Finally I was just tired of answering the questions so I thought I’d make up a silly answer, and then it went viral and everyone thought that I was serious.”

She continued to point out that in the interview, she can be seen glancing over to her manager and giving a cheeky smile. “Because I was like, ‘Ha ha, they didn’t know.”

To give an actual answer to the question, she told the outlet that her favorite dish is “probably pizza.”
