account the sculptures of Austrian designerKlemens Torggleras “ doorway ” feel like an vilification . These are n’t door — they’re wizardly pieces of engineering science , half energizing sculpture and half charming antic , that you materialise to walk through . So , how do they exploit ?
You may have see Torggler ’s workplace around before : In his manyYouTube videos , the Austrian designer walk nonchalantly through the inning , and with a pic of his wrist , sets a whirling structural manoeuvre in motion , either closing or afford the door in question . Torggler has been building these door since 1997 — and each one is different . We resolve to look at the five main type .
Let ’s start up with the video the Torggler upload today . We ’re check his dual rod system in action . In some way , this is the childlike design to sympathise . It consist of two superimposed leafs . They sing open and confining thanks to the long pieces of metal mount to each square — by rotating , they slew the sections into billet :

Then there ’s the epitrochoid bend system , which comprise of a wheel and a curving track . The rack move along this caterpillar tread when the door is set in apparent movement :
The trigon organization might be the most mesmerizing . In it , the door is split up into two halves . Each of those halves is split diagonally , too . The two impertinent edge that fulfill in the centre are connected by a mounted to a racecourse which , when put in movement , pull the triangles into a fold situation — the weightiness of which pulls the primary sharpness into position :

The screen system is a complex , large - shell divider : mount up around a primal rod affixed to the floor , two distinct “ dual retinal rod ” doors dangle out to imprint a room - sized screen . Unfortunately , there ’s no video of this one yet — but check out the still shot :
Many of Torggler ’s doors conflate and cope with pieces of each system , and there are all kind of crazy experiment to be seen on his YouTube Thomas Nelson Page . Check out this asymmetric glass version :
