The peppy Air has come a long way from its natal day , when it crawled out of the Apple womb scrawny and anemic . Now it ’s get serious processing muscle — but not enough to blue-pencil insanely high - re TV , right?Wrong !
Now , to be fair , this particular MBA is cheat — sort of . The rig is using an extraneous graphicscardhooked up via Thunderbolt , imbuing the Air with power that ca n’t yet be crammed into its thin flesh . It jaw through uncompressed 4k picture that would make a normal MBA crawl on its knees .
This is really , really nerveless . Now of class , tethering your superskinny laptop to a bulky international graphics driveway negates the point of having said superskinny laptop to get with . But for prison term when you ’re going to be park at a desk for some time — say , for a gaming or video editing marathon , who cares ? Put it behind your show and forget about it . The ability to baffle a Thunderbolt syringe into your aviation whenever you want is like having a 2nd computer only .
The apparatus above is running on Windows — presumptively for compatibility rationality — but if you do n’t beware using Boot Camp or await for more o ten drivers , Thunderbolt is handing us the electric potential to kick upstairs forever through a drinking straw . [ 9to5Mac ]

No real reason I chose to show it race under Windows 7 other than I ’ve been surprised that we have n’t see any demonstration of Windows running TB before now . It in reality work pretty good in it ’s current genus Beta state . That say the Mac OS kicks @ss running the same config . Please keep in judgment that half the battle is getting alpha / beta Windows 7 64bit driver for each TB equipment . All TB devices need drivers at some level . All necessary Mac o number one wood are already shipping .
The Mac + TB is really last geezerhood news and we all desire more TB peripherals to start transport and to bug out showing Intel and microcomputer makers that there is Lot of interest group on both side of meat and it will benefit all TB users . I have no preference on OS and use both everyday .
