As reported byDeadline , Emily St. John Mandel ’s novel is being adapt into a ten - episode HBO Max series by Patrick Somerville ( Maniac ) and Paramount TV . Which sound bully , but what really stick out on this announcement is the molding of two big spark advance : protagonist Kirsten , a survivor of a devastating flu and a phallus of a post - apocalyptic Shakespeare troupe , will be played by Mackenzie Davis ( Halt and Catch Fire ) . Meanwhile , Jeevan , a fibre described by Deadline as a “ misplace soul ” who must ill-use up when the flu ten-strike will be played by Himesh Patel ( Yesterday ) .
