If you ’re not conversant with Orb , it ’s both a cyclosis and a broadcasting answer to get audio and picture onto your TV . They ’ve just introduce a new reading of Orb MyCasting that work with theXbox 360,Wii , andPS3game console . This means you’re able to now play back pictures , music , and movies sit on your computer straight on your tv set through your gambling organisation . The Xbox 360 could do this already , and so could the PS3 ( somewhat ) , but the Wii was a piece more limited .
However , even if you have an Xbox 360 , you could habituate MyCasting to stream YouTube , Google Video , Yahoo ! Video , Daily Motion , Guba , AOL Video , and thousands of other stream Internet television set station to your readiness . That ’s pretty nifty .
But how well does it work ?
passably darn well . set up regular cyclosis ( vids , music , pics ) on the Xbox 360 was uncomplicated . Just pick apportion folder on your microcomputer ( Windows only ) and select the “ Orb ” PC option from your 360 in the right media section . It pullulate just as you ’d expect it to .
Plus , if you ’re trying to play back DivX or a format your Xbox 360 wo n’t support , Orb will transcode it on the fly for you . The only downside to this is that Orb transcodes at what seems like 320×240 and stretch the image to 720p or 1080i or whatever resolution your 360 ’s running . This makes the look-alike blocky , but watchable if it ’s your only stamping ground .
The best feature film would have to be the Internet video substance , which is fairly confusing to set up at first . After jump off through various hoops — you actually have to obtain post on your PC and mark them as “ favorite ” before you may watch them — we vex cyberspace video performing .
As for YouTube and Google , you ca n’t really just sit on the couch and flip through a bunch of videos . You have to find them on your PC first , then mark those as favorite before they ’re viewable on the cabinet . Definitely awkward , and hopefully fixable in future updates .
All in all the media cyclosis is ready to hand for the stuff and nonsense on your PC ’s concentrated drive , but the real Au here is being able to watch net content .
