want to watch Burlesque immediately , but are n’t in the humour to pad to your local cinemaplex ? Never venerate ! You ’ll soon be able to rent it from home the mean solar day it ’s released for a mere $ 20,500 . Wait , what ?
That ’s apparently Prima Cinema Inc. ’s plan , a company that wants to rain cats and dogs first - run movies to home for $ 20,000 up front and $ 500 per moving-picture show thereafter . Which is the type of crazy monopoly money people expend on keeping alien animal as favorite , not on Orlando Bloom on their 42 - in LCD . Yet agree tothe WSJ , the troupe plans to launch next year and be in 250,000 homes within five years .
I ’ll go ahead and say that there ’s no movie worth that much money , no matter how affluent you are . I ’d even say there are very few movies that are so good it ’s unimaginable to wait the two or three month before it comes out on DVD or is available on premium cable or on - demand . So what give ?

According to Prima president Jason Pang :
“ We ’re not here to supplant anything , “ suppose Mr. Pang , who was involve with other video technology companies before launch Prima . “ We are trying to produce new revenue flow for studios and new see opportunities for moviegoers . ”
Well , that ’s not very helpful . But honestly , if even three people sign up for these rascality , that ’s decent money in the camber without pick off the studio ’ movie chain partner . And hey , a high lineament digital copy usable that early is great news for pirates ! The only wound party is rationality , but I reckon that ’s been long dead no matter . [ Wall Street Journal ]
