We do n’t drop a line about batteries much on Gizmodo because , well , there ’s not much give out on with battery in the consumer market . But Energizer has a new engineering that they ’re hyping for CES 2009 .
It ’s called Zinc Air Prismatic and the party promises that it will tender 3x the battery life of a similarly sized alkaline or Li ion competitor — or the “ highest vigor density of any consumer portable superpower solution . ”
The battery will utilize zinc - air reaction ( atomic number 30 oxidizes when introduce to oxygen ) , aknown methodto produce cheap , powerful batteries — their most famous role credibly being hearing aids . ( Why exactlywe have n’t see bigger versions on store shelves already is beyond us — anyone in the audience fuck more about manufacture the technical school ? )

Unfortunately , zinc - air batteries are not rechargeable . So it ’s dubious that Energizer Zinc Air Prismatic will be either . [ Energizer ]
