Drakeis sharing his two cents on theGrammy Awardsahead of the show on Sunday night.
The rapper, 37, reposted a video from Complex of his acceptance speech at the 2019 Grammys, adding a message for all of his peers attending the awards show in Los Angeles.
“All you incredible artists remember this show isn’t the facts it’s just the opinion of a group of people who’s name are kept a secret 🤫😂 (literally you can google it),” he wrote on his Instagram Story. “Congrats to anybody winning anything for hip hop but this show doesn’t dictate s— in our world.”
In his speech at the 2019 Grammys, as he accepted the award for best rap song for “God’s Plan,”Drake shared a similar sentiment. Complex included it in aroundup postof “iconic Grammys speeches.”
“I wanted to take this opportunity, while I’m up here, to just talk to all the kids who are watching this who are aspiring to do music, all my peers who make music from their heart, that do things pure and tell the truth," he began his speech.

“I wanna let you know we play in an opinion-based sport, not a factual-based sport," Drake continued. “So it’s not the NBA where at the end of the year you’re holding a trophy because you made the right decisions or won the games.”
“This is a business where, sometimes, you know, it’s up to a bunch of people that might not understand what a mixed-race kid from Canada has to say, or a fly Spanish girl from New York or anybody else… Or a brother from Houston, right there, my brotherTravis [Scott]. But look the point is – you’ve already won if you have people who are singing your songs word for word, if you’re a hero in your hometown, if look — if there’s people who have regular jobs who are coming out in the rain and snow spending their hard-earned money to buy tickets to come to your shows, you don’t need this right here, I promise you. You already won.”
The “First Person Shooter” rapper is a five-time Grammy winner himself and is nominated for four awards at Sunday’s show. His 2024 nominations include best rap song and best rap performance for “Rich Flex,” best rap album forHer Loss, his joint album with21 Savage, and best melodic rap performance for “Spin Bout U.”

In 2020,he once again shared his opinion on the awards showafterThe Weekndwas not among the nominees for the 2021 Grammys. The singer wrote in atweetat the time, “The Grammys remain corrupt. You owe me, my fans and the industry transparency…”
Drake took to his Instagram Story afterward to support his friend, writing that the awards show has a “disconnect” from acknowledging “impactful music.”
“It’s like a relative you keep expecting to fix up but they just can’t change their ways,” he continued. “The other day I said @theweeknd was a lock for either album or song of the year along with countless other reasonable assumptions and it just never goes that way.”
Drake then added that now is “a great time” for someone to “start something new that we can build up over time and pass on to the generations to come.”
