Tenetoccupies an odd place inChristopher Nolan ’s filmography . It became one of the big tentpole pic during the early day ofthe pandemic , and Warner Bros. simultaneous banner / theatrical spill of its film led to him leap ship over to Universal . onwards of the movie’supcoming re - departure , Nolan ’s telling sept that they really should n’t think too hard about what the hell ’s going on in this movie .
In a late installment of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert , the talk show innkeeper mentioned Tenet ’s most coarse critique of being hard to empathize . For his part , Nolan argued that you ’re “ not meant to understand ” everything in the movie . “ It ’s not all comprehendible , ” he admitted . “ It ’s a flake like need if I know what happens to the spinning top at the end of Inception . ”
The larger point Nolan ’s qualification is that interview will get what ’s going on in his movies if they allow themselves to experience them . He ’s also a fan ofTalladega Nights , so clearly he ’s just always been a regular - ass dude who knows how to organise the hell out of some movies .
