Alexa and Carlos tied the knot in 2014, and have shared their parenting journey online since the very beginning.

Their first child was born on Dec. 7, 2016.
“God called the dry ground ‘land’ and the water the ‘seas.’ And God saw that it was good,” the actress explained in the caption of her first born’s name. “That is why we went with Ocean. And he is a son of the one true ‘King.’ For us it has a beautiful biblical meaning.”

He was born in Los Angeles and weighed in at 8 lbs., 6 oz., their rep confirmed to PEOPLE at the time.
In July 2019, they welcomed a second son,Kingston James PenaVega.
“It’s official! We are now a family of 4!” Alexa wrote as she posted a family photo of the group in the delivery room. The family got their first girl when daughterRio Reywas born in May 2021.

“I think new-mom mode really helped me want to start diving into cleaning, and I can say that we’ve officially started spring cleaning in our house,” Alexa told PEOPLE in a March 2017 interview.
“I want to make sure that everything that I’m doing is safe for my son,” she said, referring to Ocean, who was just 3 months old at the time.
She also discussed life as a first-time parent. “When I say overwhelming, it’s overwhelming all around — like, your heart is so full," Alexa said in 2017. “You are in awe that you made this child.”
