On this calendar week ’s edition of Late Friday News Dump : Uber ’s number one wood database was access by an unknown third company , compromise the personal info of about 50,000 drivers . So far there have been no reports of wildcat exercise of the selective information .
The “ wildcat third party ” accessed the information all the mode back in May of 2014 . And according to theLos Angeles Times , Uber discovered that the data had been accessed in September of last year . So far Uber is only arrogate that public figure and driver ’s permit numbers were accessed .
The company is n’t giving out any more information , explaining that it ’s an “ on-going investigating , ” but it seems rather curious that they would n’t have done this five months ago when they learned about the hack writer . Uber saysthat it ’s reaching out to drivers about the breach and the company is patently offering one class of individuality protection service to its drivers .

What should consumers do ? The average Uber rider is n’t directly affected by this latest datum breach . But deleting Uber from your phone would n’t be a bad idea . All I ’m saying is that it could n’t hurt .
